Lois has embraced and is deeply committed to Verona Area School District’s mission: “Every student must be successful!” She feels fortunate and honored to be a contributing educational professional to her school, her district, the community, and this important and fundamental mission. the Pursuit of Excellence, and Shared Responsibility at School, at Home, and in the Community. Over 250 K-12 student-artists are featured and honored with each new exhibit. In conjunction with this event, are year-round, rotating art displays throughout VASD’s Administration Building. With this honor, students’ work is professionally framed and hangs in Verona Area School District Administration Building’s boardroom for one year, with each March showcasing new artists and their contributions. This very public event - takes place during a March school board meeting and features K-12 student’s being selected by their art instructors to receive formal recognition for their artistic talent and positive citizenship contributions. Game Art, Past, VASD Apprehending Play: Systems That Shape Leisure Thursday, Febru6:00 p.m. The students, families, and colleagues within Glacier Edge Elementary, as well as the district-wide educational setting and community, are all recipients of Lois’ love of art and the wealth of opportunity that this content area provides - art enriches our lives. To instill a love of reading and the joy found within the books’ pages, her art classes routinely start or end with a book. The author’s words, the artist’s illustrations, and the book’s theme and message are all aspects from which she motivates and inspires young artists. Last year, our administrative and human resources teams collaborated with our Student Advisory Group, Staff Advisory Group, and Parent Advisory Group, held listening sessions, completed building walkthroughs, and collected survey results from students, families, and staff. Because she believes that reading is the foundation of all learning, children’s literature is often the origin and inspiration for her art education activities. Mission: To inspire and prepare our students to live creative, fulfilling and responsible lives.
